Alan Es, born in 1990 and raised in Guatemala prides himself on a small handful of traits as a DJ. First of all, his impeccable tune-selection; honed after 5 years promoting underground electronica parties in New York City in clubs like Le Bain at The Standard, Le Baron Chinatown and legendary multi-genre mecca SOB’s. His stint working with iconic DJ Stretch Armstrong and his uber-underground boutique house agency didn’t hurt developing his peculiar yet effective record selection MO; Nor so did events showcasing up-and-coming NYC rappers before their rise to fame (A$AP Rocky and Joey Bada$$ are two of note) and pre-stardom DJ’s in intimate venues that would be impossible nowadays (a young Dillon Francis, Disclosure and Duke Dumont all played his parties before their rise). His constantly evolving acuteness in the art of reading dancefloors and always being in tune with his crowds, along with his devil-may-care approach to stage presence are also worth noting, as they cement this unparallelled chymera’s style as inimitable .
Upon returning to Guatemala in 2013 Alan continued promoting and began DJ’ing, fulfilling his life-long goal of turning his love of music into a productive endeavor. A rejection of years spent in the throes of dark techno gave way to a style all his own: genre-less, unpredictable and above all: Eclectic yet Accessible. Alan’s inspirations for performances nowadays include EBM, Post-Punk, Disco, Electro, Multicultural House and Latin Techno. His favorite labels are Cómeme, Kompakt, Multi Culti, Crosstown Rebels and Pampa. Each of his many personalities yield unforgettable sets and experiences, and, diverse as they may be, are always united by impecable selection, a quasi-telepathic reading of his crowds and a near-hypnotic dance-floor that fails to disappoint set after set.
In his relatively short time performing, Alan has shared stages with Lee Foss, Disclosure, Brodinski, Gesaffelstein, XXYYXX, Kingdom, Shaun Reeves, Pillowtalk, Mijo, DJs Pareja, Zombies in Miami, Annabel Englund & John Acquaviva,
